P&M Artworks announces the second Secret Salon, a special exhibition of three Kansas City artists in three different mediums on January 12, 2017 at the Leedy-Voulkos Art Center at 2012 Baltimore Ave, Kansas City, Missouri. P&M Artworks Owner and Art Historian Patricia Brown Glenn and Mike Pronko, M.D., are pleased to present the photography of Tim Pott, the painting of Ben Parks, and the ceramics of Bernadette Esperanza Torres.
According to Patricia Brown Glenn, "A number of these artists were relative secrets, meaning they were our secret indulgences, our secret delights and we are thrilled to introduce them to our patrons"
A professional photographer since 1993, Tim Pott has a distinctive style and artful edge that sets him apart in advertising, commercial and corporate photography. His fine art images go even further in distinguishing him as a visionary of the everyday world. It is these fine art pieces that will be featured in the P&M Artworks Secret Salon.
Benjamin Parks, whose primary focus is painting large scale portraits and figurative work, is also involved in interactive digital design, music, installations and sculpture. As a visual artist, he has shown many original works in galleries and art spaces throughout the country, including the Leedy-Voulkous Art Center, the C Flat Gallery in Brooklyn, NY, the Keyhole Gallery, the Underground Gallery and various other venues. Parks' large-scale portraits, the focus of the Secret Salon, are not to be missed.
Bernadette Esperanza Torres
Bernadette Esperanza Torres is a storyteller in clay. Her sculptures are autobiographical narratives with sculpted Mexican/Italian female figures, flora, and animal imagery.
As a daughter of a florist, flowers are as intrinsic to Torres' sculptures as the stories she tells. Descriptions do not do the complexity and sensuality of Torres’ work justice, one has to see them up close.
Patricia Brown Glenn notes of the upcoming show, "To bring photography, oil painting, and ceramics together in one small gallery is a visual feast. These three artists, in their respective mediums, merge into a playful composite of beautiful and thoughtful pieces. To make this experience available for ourselves and for others is always our objective. The secret is out."
The P&M Artworks Secret Salon will open January 10, 2017, from 7pm to 9pm at the Leedy-Voulkos Gallery a2012 Baltimore Ave, Kansas City, Missouri and run through February 28, 2017.
